Manufacturing Engineer - Machining

Location: This position is located in Pearl, MS

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager and/or Director of Manufacturing

General Duties: Support manufacturing of instruments and implants

Specific Duties

  • Lead mid to high level manufacturing project, providing direction, guidance and expertise to team members. Facilitate project flow involving regular contact with engineering, quality and other cross functional teams
  • Drive and report on major projects with focus on milestones, cost, quality and delivery
  • Support and oversee day-day manufacturing operations as assigned
  • Lead continuous improvement projects for cycle time reduction and lower tooling cost
  • Support and lead completion of engineering samples for new products
  • Investigate and work with suppliers for best cost alternatives
  • Knowledge of material and heat treat selection, pFLOW, pFEMA’s and other engineering tools
  • Exhibit vision and foresight to build in robust risk assessment to ensure project success
  • Supervise/manage team members as assigned
  • Gather analysis, recommend and prepare justification for purchase of new equipment
  • Provide detailed cost estimates for engineering concepts and designs
  • Assist in new equipment installs, plant layout and other infrastructure as assigned

Qualifications/Experience Requirements

  • College graduate or equivalent with degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering/Technology and/or 5 years’ experience in manufacturing of precision parts and programming of machines
  • Key skills in Lean Manufacturing and ISO Quality Systems are desirable
  • Proficient in CAD software system, with CAM desired
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and project management tracking systems

Manufacturing Manager

Location: This position is located in Pearl, MS

Reports to: Director of Manufacturing

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible to oversee assigned manufacturing areas, improving methods and procedures and direct resources to meet the customer needs, with emphasis on reducing cost, improving sustainability and developing best practices within the manufacturing processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, select and train and develop team members
  • Ensure transfer of information to appropriate shifts and plant-wide personnel
  • Monitor and review budget and forecast to factor into daily decisions
  • Stay current on customer needs, company initiatives including current and future trends
  • Lead manufacturing projects, providing direction, guidance and expertise to team members.

  • Coordinate, perform and troubleshoot equipment, tooling and fixtures as needed
  • Identity, Measure, monitor, review and report key performance indicators used to direct resources
  • Train / mentor others to support growth and cross-functional initiatives
  • Support and maintain a clean, safe work area, equipment and tools per 5S philosophy
  • Follow safety procedures and regulations to maintain an accident free environment
  • Maintain and complete records (hard copy or electronic) for quality system, regulations and company requirements

Education and Experience:

  • 4-year college degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering/Technology (or equivalent) and/or 5 years’ experience in technical manufacturing engineering and/or management, preferably with machining of precision parts and programming of machines
  • Lean Manufacturing and ISO Quality Systems strongly desired
  • Proficient in CAD software system, with CAM desired
  • Designing, drafting and implementing tooling, fixtures and work holding devices
  • Measurement and inspection systems, including GD&T
  • Proficient in MS Office and project management tracking systems
  • Knowledge of material and heat treat selection, pFLOW, pFEMA’s and other engineering tools
  • Precision production systems and techniques, detailed problem solving and root cause analysis

Physical Requirements:

Senior Buyer

Location: This position is located in Pearl, MS

Summary:The responsibilities for this position are to plan, direct, & coordinate all procurement functions for the company. Utilizing MRP, this person will plan & lead the procurement efforts of a large variety of complex materials and services to effectively support the production requirements including negotiation of purchase price, quality, availability, delivery, and other factors necessary to ensure the overall conformance of materials purchased to manufacturing specifications and overall company production objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall procurement activities for assigned categories to assure high level of supplier performance in accordance with compliance requirements
  • Responsible for management and execution of the end-to-end Procurement processes which include sourcing, contract negotiation & management, and Purchase Order Creation, for indirect services and materials.
  • Establish, build and maintain successful supplier relationships.
  • Work with and lead cross functional teams across the network, to identify, develop and drive strategic programs focused on reducing overall cost structure and improved supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs
  • Respond to MRP signals and assign workload across purchasing resources
  • Supervise, evaluate and coach subordinates
  • Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc.
  • Assist in forecasting to plan future orders
  • Periodically reviews product utilization reports of items purchased and updates safety stock levels.
  • Conducts supplier audits.
  • Researches cost savings opportunities and assists engineering department in product development and improvement of purchased items.
  • Coordinates with Finance to reconcile invoices and finalize payments.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, supply chain management, or related field required, or equivalent work experience
  • Highly energetic, self-starter with 10+ years of procurement experience in an MRP environment
  • Senior purchasing experience 5+ years
  • Knowledge of standard procurement and accounting processes and practices
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus
  • Well organized and comfortable working independently as well as taking direction from upper management
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Negotiation abilities a plus
  • High competency level (intermediate to advanced) in use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Experience with working in an ERP system a plus
  • Demonstrates strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Maintains high levels of organization and detail
  • Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, meets deadlines, and is flexible while working on multiple projects simultaneously
