Quality Engineer

Primary Responsibilities

  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence.
  • Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
  • Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.
  • Assist in the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Act as a liaison with engineers and inspectors.
  • Create quality documentation.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • CMM, MicroVu and O-Inspect knowledge to inspect product quality is a plus.

Qualifications

  • BS degree preferred
  • Capable of reading and interpolating detailed engineering drawing specifications including GD&T.
  • Be able to determine inspection methods and specify measurement instrumentation
  • Three years minimal experience working within ISO 9000, ISO 13485 and/or FDA 21CFR Part 820 environment
  • Experience in working in a project team environment
  • Be able to handle multiple projects

Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarization with Mini-Tab software a plus
  • Ability to program CMM/PCDMIS software
  • Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Experience in FMEA and Risk Analysis
  • Competent in MS Word, Excel, and MS Project

CMM Programmer

Primary Responsibilities

  • Comprehend specifications to determine testing/inspection procedures and equipment to be used.
  • Demonstrate advanced ability to perform dimensional checks and visual verifications of fabricated and machine parts to acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze results with specifications and record test/inspection data, confer with engineers, technicians and production personnel.
  • Validate the quality of machine parts and assemblies in terms of dimensional accuracy according to acceptance criteria.
  • Liaise with suppliers as required to ensure good product, documentation and service quality is maintained.
  • Create quality documentation.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience leading quality and CMM programming efforts in the automotive or medical device industry.
  • Capable of reading and interpolating detailed engineering drawing specifications including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience using PC-DMIS and CALYPSO programming software.
  • Experience in working in a project team environment.
  • Self-starter able to prioritize multiple priorities with little guidance.

Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarization with Mini-Tab software a plus
  • Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Experience in FMEA and Risk Analysis
